Series Preview #5: Yankees (6-6) @ Red Sox (4-8)

Tomorrow is the 100 year anniversary of the first ever game played at Fenway-- and they will be welcoming back the team they played that day: The New York Highlanders, or, as you know them, the New York Yankees. Tomorrow will be the century mark on Fenway Park and I expect it to be a close one-- much as the game 100 years ago was-- with Clay Buchholz (1-0/9.82/7) against Ivan Nova (2-0/4.15/15). However, I do not expect this one to go quite as it did 100 years ago with the Yankees taking a close one against Buchholz and the Sox. The next matchup is slightly more favorable for the Sox with Felix Doubront (0-0/5.40/13), who has pitched better than his stats show, going against Freddy Garcia (0-1/6.97/8). I expect the Sox to edge a win in another close one in this game. The final game of the series is the only one of this series that is fairly easy to call with converted starter Daniel Bard (0-2/4.63/13) going against Yankees' ace C.C. Sabathia (1-0/5.59/22). Bold Prediction: Yankees win series 2-1.
