Series Preview #4: Rangers (8-2) @ Red Sox (4-6)

Coming off a series in which the Red Sox completely overrode my predictions and won 3-1 against the Rays, the Sox will play the Texas Rangers at Fenway Park. The Rangers are off to a hot start this year-- they lead the AL West and American League with an 8-2 record. This should be a good series with the Red Sox' two best starters (Jon Lester and Josh Beckett) going against the Rangers' two best (Colby Lewis and Derek Holland). In the first game (tonight), the matchup will be Jon Lester (0-1/2.40/10) against Colby Lewis (1-0/1.42/15). I would say the Sox take this game in a close one-- however, the fact that they have momentum and are at home plus Lewis' 5.01 ERA against the Sox will win a tight game. Tomorrow night's game should also be good with Josh Beckett (1-1/5.68/4) and Derek Holland (1-0/3.38/13) squaring off. However, Holland has owned the Sox to the tune of a 2.95 ERA so I'd say the Rangers take this one. Bold Prediction: Red Sox and Rangers tie series 1-1.
