Weekly News

I've made a lot of posts today, and I'm tired, so I think I can get away with not writing about today's 12-8 win over the Mariners. The Red Sox scored 5 runs in the 1st and 5th innings and went on to sweep the Mariners in the series finale. The Red Sox had a great week this past week, going 5-1 and moving to 3 games ahead of the Yankees in the AL East. Our Player of the Week for his 3rd time is Kevin Youkilis, who went .333/1/7 this past week and is now .282/14/72 including a 2-run homer today. Our Pitcher of the Week is, big surprise, #8 for Josh Beckett, who pitched a great game last night, going 7 innings and allowing 1 run while striking out 7. The performance of the week belongs to Jacoby Ellsbury on Wednesday (6/20/11) as he went 2-4 with 2 solo home runs, as he is having a great season this year. The game of the week goes to Monday (6/18/11) as the Sox won 15-10 in a roller coaster game that I had the pleasure of seeing at the park. Next week, the Sox will play a 4-game series at home against the Royals then go to Chicago to play the White Sox.
