Series Preview #6: Red Sox (4-10) @ Twins (5-11)
With the Red Sox' coming off back-to-back sweeps at the hands of the Rangers and Yankees, both at home. That makes this next series even more essential for the Red Sox, and they're thankfully facing a team experiencing an equally slow start: The Minnesota Twins at 5-11. In the first game of the series, the Red Sox will slate Jon Lester (0-2/5.82/12), who has been good in all but one start, against Twins' starter Jason Marquis (1-0/7.20/3). The Red Sox should firmly have an upper hand in this matchup and I certainly hope they can win. The next game should be a solid victory for the Red Sox as well as they will send Josh Beckett (1-2/5.03/11) up against Nick Blackburn (0-1/5.56/6)-- who has been no more than average in his career. This should be another strong win for the Red Sox. The next game is the most difficult to call with Clay Buchholz (1-1/9.00/9), who has started off very slow, against Twins rookie Liam Hendricks (0-0/3.86/5), who has impressed in two starts this year. However, I have faith that Buchholz can tough it out and beat a weak team like the Twins. Bold Prediction: Red Sox sweep series 3-0.
