Triple Weekly News
The Red Sox had a great 3 weeks, they went 11-5, and are now 1.5 games ahead of the Yankees for first place, I kind of wish I could have seen it all. However, on a different note, a new competitor has emerged into the race; someone who has not even won a Player of the Week in his life now has three of them. That man is Jacoby Ellsbury, who in the last 10 games, batted .370/4/11 and is now a great .310/13/51. He has a career high in home runs and his batting average is 15 points higher than his career average. He has gotten injured a bit, and missed a couple starts, but when he was on in the past 3 weeks, he was fantastic. He is Josh Beckett, who allowed just 4 earned runs in 21 innings the past few weeks. He is having a fantastic season and is now a remarkable 8-3/2.12/100. I'm not going to be able to tell you the Game and the Performance of the last few weeks simply because I'm too lazy to check every game. However, in the upcoming week the Sox will play a 3 game series in Baltimore, take a day off on Thursday, and play a 3-game series at home against the Mariners.

I always knew good things would happen with Jacoby. He is only going to get better.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, career high in homers, on pace for a career high in RBIs. His steals have gone down but everything else has gone up, he's been less depended on for steals with Crawford in the lineup and Pedroia stealing more than usual.
