With today's 14-1 win over the Blue Jays, the Red Sox concluded a 6-0 week with 3-game sweeps of the Yankees and Blue Jays. Our Player of the Week, for his 2nd time, is David Ortiz, who batted a remarkable .320/4/13 in just 6 games! He is now a very impressive .325/17/43 this season, as he's been great all year long. Our Pitcher of the Week, for his 3rd time, is Clay Buchholz, who tossed a gem in Toronto on Friday (6/10/11) allowing a run on 3 hits through 7 innings, earning a win in a 5-1 Red Sox victory. The game of the week goes to Thursday (6/9/11) in an 8-3 win over the Yankees where the Sox rode a 7-run 7th inning to a win and series sweep of their arch-rivals. The performance of the week goes to Kevin Youkilis today (6/12/11) as he went 3-4 with 3 runs scored and 4 RBIs including a 2-run homer. Next week the Sox will take a day off tomorrow before a 3-game series in Tampa Bay, then they will head back home and face the Brewers for 3 games.
