Red Sox Come Back In Big 8th Inning (6-5)

Today, in my second installment of the Red Sox' split-squad games, the Red Sox once again won, this time 8-7 to the Cardinals. This was a very exciting game to follow as the Sox were ahead 3-2, but then the Cardinals had a 5-run 5th inning to make it 3-7. After that, the Sox scored in the 6th and the 8th to make an exciting ballgame. Ryan Lavarnway (right) was a key contributor, as he went 2-2 with 3 RBIs and a home run, as he is now .333/1/3 this spring. The other RBIs belonged to Jacoby Ellsbury, Yamaico Navarro, Darnell McDonald, and two for Alex Hassan. Stolmy Pimentel allowed 2 runs in 1.2 innings for his second straight rough start. The win went to Clevelan Santeliz, who tossed two shutout innings to keep the Cards at bay near the end of the game. Tomorrow, the Sox will send Clay Buchholz out to face the Orioles at 7:05. I'm really happy that the Sox swept their split-squad today, as I followed both games and they both impressed me greatly.
