Sox Move to Front Seat in Wild Card

Last night the Red Sox dominated the Blue Jays, in a 6-1 victory against Toronto. Clay Buchholz was in the driver's seat in this game as he pitched fantastically, allowing 1 ER through 6 innings while striking out 4. The Sox were also backed by homers from Ortiz (19th), Bay (27th), and Martinez (19th). The most excellent part of this however was that the Sox beat one of the best in the business, Roy Halladay, who allowed 5 runs through 5 innings, his shortest healthy outing since 2007. Buuchholz is now 2-3 with a 3.99 ERA. Meanwhile, in Texas, Minnesota came back from their second deficit by at least 4 runs in a row and beat Texas 5-4. This puts the Sox 1 game ahead of the rangers for the driver's seat in the wild card position, the Sox are also 7 games behind the Yanks. Tonight Lester goes on the hill to try and sweep the Jays!

  1. Great game last night! Buchholz was excellent and it's good to see some powerful bats at work again. I was also happy to see Youkilis keep his cool after being hit (AGAIN) - we need him on the team, not on the bench with a penalty!

Who would have guessed the Twisn would come back from a 5-1 deficit to beat the Rangers?
