Series Preview #15: Rays (27-18) @ Red Sox (22-22)

At long last, the Red Sox have reached .500-- and now, they play a team who they are 4-2 against this year: the Tampa Bay Rays. In the first game tomorrow night, Jon Lester (3-3/3.95/37) and Alex Cobb (1-0/2.57/6). Cobb was good in his first start, but I have to go with Lester on this one and predict a Red Sox win. On Saturday's game, it'll be Josh Beckett (4-4/4.38/40) against David Price (6-3/2.88/52). Beckett has been great in his past couple of starts and so has Price-- both pitchers have been dominant against their opponents so I expect the Rays to win a pitching game on Saturday. The series finale, and potential rubber match, of the series will be Sunday-- when we'll get to see Clay Buchholz (4-2/7.84/27) taking the hill against impressive youngster Jeremy Hellickson (4-1/2.73/38). Hellickson has been fantastic this year while Buchholz has struggled mightily. However, in two of his last three starts-- Buchholz has been solid, and the Red Sox' offense could make this close; I'd still predict a loss though. Bold Prediction: Rays win series 2-1.
