Series Preview #14: Red Sox (20-21) @ Orioles (27-15)

After a 2-1 series against the Phillies, the Red Sox will head down to Baltimore to take on the division leading Orioles. In the first game of the series, tonight, we'll get to see Clay Buchholz (right)(4-2/7.77/25) throw against Tommy Hunter (2-2/4.78/28). This is a really tough one for me to choose, as Buchholz has pitched really badly this year, but well in his last two starts; still, I'd predict a very close loss for the Sox here. In Game 2, we'll get to see a pair of young starters with Felix Doubront (4-1/4.09/44) and Brian Matusz (3-4/5.36/29) going head to head. Doubront has been pitching really well of late and I'd predict a win in this game. In Game 3 we'll see a couple more young starters in Daniel Bard (3-5/4.85/26) and Jake Arrieta (2-4/4.72/51). Arrieta has not pitched well against the Red Sox, while Bard has done so against the Orioles so I'd predict a very close win here. Bold Prediction: Red Sox win series 2-1.
