Kyle Weiland was pretty bad, allowing 6 runs in 4 2/3 innings as his tough career continues, he is now 0-3/7.99/10. A shutout 1 1/3 innings by Felix Doubront and a shutout 3 innings by Alfredo Aceves provided some help, but not enough. Marco Scutaro had a great day, going 3-3 with 2 runs scored, including 2 doubles. Adrian Gonzalez also had a nice day at the ballpark, going 2-4 with a run and 2 RBIs. Dustin Pedroia and Jarrod Saltalamacchia each went 1-4 with an RBI triple, the 3rd triple of the year for each player. Darnell McDonald (left) had a good game, going 2-4 with a solo home run, as he is having an ok year at .221/6/24 for a bench player. Tonight, the Sox will play the 2nd game of the double-header, with John Lackey (12-12/6.19/101) going against Brian Matusz (1-7/9.84/33).
Bright Spots:
Felix Doubront- 1 1/3 scoreless innings
