Red Sox Acquire Only Player In MLB Named Conor. Yes!

In case you're wondering about the title, my name is Conor Duffy; and I don't know if there is anybody else in baseball named Conor (spelled like that), but I sort of would like to know that the only guy named Conor is on the Red Sox. What? You want me to write about the guy? Oh, right. They traded relief prospect Jason Rice to the A's yesterday for utility man and right hitting Conor Jackson. After a few good years from 2006-2008, batting .291/15/79, .284/15/60, and .300/12/75, respectively. However, since then he hasn't been so good. He was been troubled with injury problems and has just not been the same. This year, for instance, he was struggled in Oakland, batting at a lowly .249/4/38 and he is only batting .254 off of lefties, which is (I expect), the reason they've brought him in. At the very least, however, he will be better than Darnell McDonald, and will provide a decent outfield glove and a decent bat (better than McDonald!) to the table.
