John Lackey was decent, allowing 4 runs and striking out 7 through 6 2/3 innings. He is now 11-9/6.02/86 in a tough year for him. Alfredo Aceves tossed a scoreless 1 1/3 innings and Dan Wheeler threw a scoreless inning in relief. Once again, the Red Sox only managed 3 hits in the ballgame. These belonged to Jacoby Ellsbury (1-3 with a triple), Dustin Pedroia (1-3), and Kevin Youkilis (1-4). Tomorrow, the Sox will head to Kansas City and will send Josh Beckett (9-5/2.40/133) up against Luke Hochevar (8-9/4.89/90) and the Royals.
Bright Spots:
Alredo Aceves- 1 1/3 scoreless innings
Dan Wheeler- a scoreless inning
Jacoby Ellsbury- 1-3 with a triple
Dustin Pedroia- 1-3
Kevin Youkilis- 1-4
Dull Spots:
Everybody else in the lineup- 0-19 with 5 strikeouts
This was another bad game for the Sox and we are now 1 game behind New York.
C'mon Guys! The Yankees are in the passing lane!
