Weekly News
I am sorry, but I was unable to blog yesterday's 12-3 slugfest over the Brewers. However, they won 12-3 and won that series 2-1, meaning along with the Rays series (2-1), the Sox went 4-2 this week. Our Player of the Week, for the second time, is Kevin Youkilis who batted only .227 but was able to hit 2 dingers and drive in 8 runs. On the 2011 season, he is now .261/11/50, not bad by any margin. Our Pitcher of the Week is Josh Beckett, who allowed just one hit in a complete game shutout over the Rays on Wednesday (6/15/11). The game of the week goes to Wednesday (6/15/11) as in a pitcher's duel, the Sox were just able to beat the Rays on a 3-run homer by Kevin Youkilis, the only offense in a 3-0 win. The performance of the game goes to Dustin Pedroia yesterday (6/19/11) as he went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs in a 12-3 win. Next week the Sox face the Padres at Fenway then go to PIttsburgh to face the Pirates for 3 more.

Thanks for the post, Conor. Sounds like a great week for the Sox and I totally agree with your choice of Youkilis for "player of the week"
