Josh Beckett (top right) pitched very well, allowing no runs and 6 hits through 7 strong innings, lowering his ERA to a remarkable 1.99. After Alfredo Aceves allowed 1 run in 2/3 of an inning, Jonathan Papelbon pitched a scoreless 1 1/3 innings. Hideki Okajima then came on and allowed no runs and 2 hits in 2 innings, earning the win, and making him 1-0/4.32/6 this year. Adrian Gonzalez went 2-5 with 1 RBI today, making him now .317/4/25 this year. Carl Crawford (left) only went 1-5 but he did have the walk-off double, and is now .211/1/8 on the season. Jason Varitek had a rare good game, going 2-4 and scoring a run.
Tonight, the Sox head to Toronto and will send Jon Lester (4-1/2.33/46) against Kyle Drabek (2-2/4.50/28).

I am glad that the Red Sox won, and how they won, and that they are 1 game from .500!
This was a nice game and it's great to see Josh Beckett doing well!
